when it has to be done... do it.

Uma coisa tem de me satisfazer. Quando escolhi a árvore não queria ultrapassar o plafond de 20€. um dos critério, para além de uma árvore saudável, era possuir movimento logo a partir da base. Outros problemas não foram tidos em conta. Já desde o ultimo transplante que sabia que a árvore tinha proporções erradas e o tronco perdia movimento e conocidade em direcção ao apex. Tentei baixar a copa através de poda e re-orientação da serissa. Pensei até ontem que poderia seleccionar um dos ramos que compunham a copa, para novo topo. Mas com a orientação do meu prof. Rui Ferreira, percebi que manteria dois problemas pouco estéticos: excessiva altura para a largura da base e grande parte do tronco recto.

Assim decidimos optar pela poda drástica, esperando desenvolver um shoin com mais movimento e melhores proporções.

On the more recent lesson at Jardim de Bonsai, we had study this Serissa. in the past i had saw that the tree was not proportional. too high comparing to the litle ase. Then i'd tryed to cut the apex and give ano ther orientation. But the tree had still very high and with a long and straight trunk. the upper part of the trunk were composed by five or six branches, closed to each others. i thought that could do the apex with one of them, but the tree would keep two big problems: too high e the upper trunk without movement.
so we decided the more drastic solution. and i'm sure that was the best. it had to be done to get a good shoin in the future. winter is coming, so i brought the tropical tree inside.
